Yang - The sacred masculine, or male energy is heart-centred, structured Solar energy. It is characterized as positive, passionate, confident, radiant, strong and warm. Outward flowing and active - it is the energy of  "doing" .  Yang is white & red                  
Yin  -  The divine feminine, or female energy is Lunar energy. It is soft, receptive, nurturing,  gentle, quiet, humble and loving, but also very powerful. It is inward flowing and passive (as in peaceful) and the energy of "being" .  Yin is black &  blue
Each person needs to balance both energies within him/herself.
